The Neighbourhood Team and police youth intervention officer were joined by a police dog handler and Jasper yesterday where visits were completed at St Austell College and Fowey School. Jasper is a drugs dog trained to indicate to those who may be in the possession or close contact with controlled drugs. A number of students were searched following a positive indication but not to be found in possession of controlled drugs. The visits were not completed in regards to specific intelligence about the college or school but completed for educational and deterrent purposes. We are planning to carry out future visits of other secondary schools in the area.
