As the weather is slowly warming up please be mindful of leaving property windows open during the evenings and into the night, especially on the ground floor of your properties. 

If you wish to leave a window open, make sure it is on a security latch. Open windows may attract unwanted visitors at night and your home could be seen as a target for burglars. 

I would also like to remind residents to ensure their garage doors are always left shut. During my foot patrol today some residents had left their doors up, advertising items inside. Keeping the garage door closed and locked helps prevent unwanted access, keeps your possessions hidden and makes it more difficult for burglars to gain entry.
