Crime update Blythe.


Dear Resident,

Here are the Reported Crimes on Blythe between Tuesday 22/04/25  – Wednesday 30/04/25.

Burglary.

On the 24/04/25 at 12.41pm a burglary was reported on Brookside, Cheswick Green. Offenders in balaclavas forced open a garage door and tried to steal motorcycles. They were disturbed and drove off in a Vauxhall Zafira on false plates. 

Theft of motor vehicles. 

Between 25/04/25 – 29/04/25 a white Vauxhall Grandland was stolen without keys from a rear car park off Ascote Lane in Dickens Heath.

On the 28/04/25 at 2am a Ford Ranger was stolen without keys from Burnthurst Crescent in Monkspath. A relay device was used.

Theft from Motor vehicle.

Between 10/04/25 – 24/04/25 registration plates were stolen off a vehicle parked on Kettlebrook Road, Monkspath.

On the 25/04/25 between 6.30pm -10.20pm the side door on a Ford Transit van was forced open whilst parked on Farm House Way, Monkspath. Gardening tools and equipment were stolen.

 

Please fit a steering lock as an extra layer of security to protect your keyless entry vehicle. Relay scanning devices are being used. Please set your alarm if fitted. Leave lights on or use light timers. Never leave your house in darkness. 

Ongoing patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. 

Please use anti-tamper screws available from most vehicle spares shops to secure your number plates securely to your vehicle.

  • Any images should be recorded onto a secure system and be held for a minimum of 31 days.

  • Ensure that all shrubs and hedges do NOT encroach the maximum height of 1m and Tree canopies are lifted to 1.8m. This allows for maximum natural surveillance.

  • Ensure that all fences are the same height as smaller fencing abutting higher fencing acts as a potential climbing aid for offenders.

  • Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary.

  • Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
