Meet the town centre neighbourhood team - PC 03932 MARSHALL

Hello, my name is Laura Marshall and I am one of the Bolton town centre neighbourhood officers.

I have been with Greater Manchester Police for 4 years, prior to me becoming a police officer for GMP, I was a special constable for Lancashire police for 4 years whilst working full time for a housing association.

I started my career with GMP on response in Bolton and I worked on response for 2 and half years. I then moved to the tutor unit, the tutor unit is still frontline policing and still attending all different types of jobs like response but taking out a student officer for 10 weeks and teaching and showing them how to deal with jobs and getting the students prepared to become an independent patrol.

I moved to the Bolton town centre neighbourhood team 6 months ago and I am really enjoying my new role. I wanted to move to Bolton town centre neighbourhood team because although I enjoyed my roles on response and the tutor unit, I really wanted to get to know the people of Bolton a lot better and I thought no better place to do that in the busy town centre. I really like seeing jobs through from start to finish and on neighbourhood this allows me to do that. Bolton town centre is such a busy place all times of the day and my goal is to make Bolton town centre a safer place for you all to be in.

Hopefully I will see you around town when I am patrol and don’t forget to come and say hello.
