We have had recent incidents where vehicles have parked in an inappropriate or unsafe location, causing obstructions in the highway and requiring police attendance to resolve the issue, which was impacting on and inconveniencing numerous members of the community.

Luckily the latest incident was resolved fairly quickly without police powers being used to remove the vehicles in question, after owners were contacted. 

Remember, if 'reasonable' attempts by police to contact the owners prove negative, then vehicles will be removed for ‘Obstructing the Highway’ and the owner will have to pay for the recovery and storage of the vehicle. 

Please be courteous and think of others when you park. 

Think about where you park your vehicle(s) being appropriate/safe for other road users and pedestrians and whether or not there is enough road space for Emergency vehicles like an Ambulance of Fire Appliance to get through.
