Cultural Quarter - Beat Priority Updates

Cultural Quarter - Beat Priority Updates

The priorities set for this quarter are retail crime, drug-related crime, and theft of pedal cycles.

This is our first update regarding these priorities for April:

Retail Crime
April Update;
The team has actively engaged with businesses within the beat, providing advice and reassurance to staff, security personnel, and the public. Robust measures have been implemented against repeat offenders, and the team will continue to share updates on these engagements online. We encourage you to meet the team and discuss any concerns you may have.

Drug Related Crime
April Update;
The team has executed warrants based on intelligence related to drug supply within the beat. Several arrests have been made, with strict bail conditions imposed to ensure public safety. Additionally, collaborative efforts with partner agencies have been undertaken to provide appropriate support and safeguarding for identified vulnerable individuals.

Theft of Pedal Cycles
April Update;
Beat surgeries have been scheduled for bike registrations, offering advice to the public on securing their bicycles properly. Tailored online posts will also be available, providing guidance on preventing cycle crime.

We will continue to post updates throughout the month on our progress towards these priorities, with a comprehensive update at the end of each month.

Take care,

Joe Culverwell
