General update - Capel & Paddock Wood

Dear Residents.

A quick update regarding your areas and what's being going on from a policing perspective. Over the past few weeks the Tunbridge Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team have dealt with a range of incidents as a whole. With the Easter holidays a few incidents of anti-social behaviour occurred and we saw a slight increase in these incidents. Those of which that occurred in Paddock Wood and Capel have been followed up on. Two youth's have been issued with Acceptable Behaviour Agreements due to their involvement in anti-social behaviour over the past few weeks and a number of other individuals have been identified and will be dealt with in the near future.

We have seen an increase in calls relating to nuisance quad bikes in Capel that I have followed up on personally. I have met with the land owner that has been affected by this and I am actively looking into what can be done to solve this issue. I will look to patrol this area as much as possible when I am on duty, deal with any offences and have done some work to make other relevant departments aware of this recent issue with a view to getting further patrols in the area where possible.

As always, I have patrolled as much as possible and continued to engage with residents, business and people visiting the area. There has been a recent focus on traffic issues, in particularly nuisance vehicles and those who commit traffic offences. This will continue where possible as we strive to make the roads as safe as possible. Whilst parking is still an issue, I have noticed an increase in traffic enforcement in Paddock Wood recently. I believe this is down to continued work from concerned residents, the Parish Council as well as myself voicing our concerns about this issue.

I'm looking forward to some upcoming events that some colleagues and I will be attending. As your beat officer, I will always do what I can to attend events in the area as well as visiting organisations. We will be at the VE Day Street Party in the Park on Saturday 10th May 2025, so I look forward to meeting and speaking to those of you that come along!

As always, thank you to everyone I have come into contact with over the past few weeks and the residents that continue to support the work that my colleagues and I do.

Kind regards,

Connor Geelan.
