👮🏽‍♀️ Neighbourhoods Policing! - What is it? 👮🏽‍♂️

Neighbourhood policing involves dedicated Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT's) working with local communities and partners to identify and address issues, focusing on crime prevention, reassurance, and building trust.

These teams are made up of local police officers and police community support officers, (PCSO's) who work directly with the community and local partner organisations to tackle issues affecting residents, businesses, and visitors.

🚨 Take a look at some of our recent partnership work and why this is important to neighbourhoods policing:
🫱🏽‍🫲🏽 This morning, PCSO's Dave HANCOCK and Samantha FELLOWS have been in the Pleasley area working in partnership with Bolsover District Council looking at ways to deter off-road bikes from using the area illegally after some concerns from local residents.
🫱🏽‍🫲🏽 We work closely with Guinness Housing Association in order to provide some positive engagement and education around one of the local parks and have set up a "Park Committee Litter Pick" for the children - This will be resuming now the weather is better 😎☀️
🫱🏽‍🫲🏽 We also work closely with Bolsover District Council's Enforcement Rangers who also offer a helping hand to our ASB patrols in the local areas, offering positive engagement and reassurance to local residents who have raised concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and criminal damage etc.

Partnership working is something we do to strengthen community confidence and is ongoing within the Safer Neighbourhood Team. We actively engage with local residents, community leaders and partner organisations to understand their needs and priorities. This helps us build up strong relationships with these partner organisations and in turn we come together to use our local knowledge and contacts to analyse crime patterns and identify effective solutions.

👀  Targeted Policing:
Unlike response officers who handle immediate 999 calls, Safer Neighbourhood Teams have the time to focus on understanding and targeting criminal behaviour in their area.

👉🏾 As part of our monthly targeted patrols, you can see us in New Houghton this evening around 7pm where we will be conducting one of our ASB Street Walks in order to help deter ASB and also provide some positive engagement and education to local youths who may be using the parks this evening. We  do this regularly after some concerns raised by local residents regarding experiencing some ASB from youths in the area and also concerns for under age drinking on the park.

If you do see us out and about in our areas this evening and would like to chat face to face about any concerns you might have in your area, stop and talk to us!
