ASB updates and lots of community updates

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you all are having a great week.

It's been a busy few days, apologies for the length of the e-mail but I have quite a few updates for you.

Please find at the very end of the e-mail a list of locations I have attended over the last couple of days.

ASB (Anti-social behaviour) updates

*Report:  Recently it was reported that children had thrown eggs at properties on Goodwood Place.

Update: Those responsible have been identified and I have begun speaking to those involved regarding their behaviour. I will be contacting parents/guardians and those responsible will be writing ‘apology letters’ which I will be delivering to victims.

I want to ensure that all residents feel reassured following this incident. Therefore I will completing a Street Surgery in Goodwood Pl on Friday 28th March 18:30 - 18:45. If any resident would like to discuss any matters, concerns or just want to say hello, I look forward to seeing you there.

*Report: Litter and mess had been left in the vicinity of Clermont Ave.

Update: Those responsible have been identified and spoken to.

Report: There have been incidents of motorbikes being ridden in an anti-social manner in the area and other parts of the city.

Update: I am currently in the process of exploring lines of enquiry to try and identify those involved. If you have any CCTV/Dash cam footage or information that may help the enquiries please let me know.

Walkabout update

On 26/03/2025 I took part in a ‘walkabout’ with Councillors Dan Jellyman and Maxine Clark. I raised concerns of vehicles parking on the junction of Margaret Avenue and Boma Road during school drop off and collection times. I have requested yellow lines to be placed around these junctions to avoid vehicles parking there - which I hope will help prevent further issues and make it safer for everyone.

I have also passed on the concerns residents have raised regarding visibility issues when exiting Victory Park Drive. I am aware of further concerns raised regarding parking at this location and I will be doing my best to address them.

Coffee Morning update:

On 26/03/2025 I attended a ‘Coffee Morning’ at the Priory CE Academy - a number of agencies attended and it was a great opportunity to meet residents and discuss their concerns. I believe there will be another ‘Coffee Morning’ later on in the year. Once I know when this will be I will keep you updated.

Later on in the day we were asked to say hello to a reception class at the school.

Myself and neighbourhood officers spoke to the class, answered lots of questions and they all had a chance to sit in a Police vehicle and set off the sirens.

Care Home Visits -

This week I have visited Hanford Manor, Hanford Court, Trentham House Care Home, Lake View Nursing Home and NG Healthcare, where I spoke to managers at each home. I feel it very important that residents within these Care Homes feel part of the community and have their say on what issues they would like Neighbourhood Officers to be addressing. In the very near future I will be incorporating these locations as part of the ‘street surgeries’. Secondly, I also want to ensure residents at the homes can access the information on these e-mails and I have discussed with managers regarding sharing the e-mails with the residents. I look forward to meeting with residents at these locations very soon!

Business & school visits  -

This week I've made a good start with visiting every business in the Trentham & Hanford area and making them aware of the ‘Smart Alert’ system.  I have also made contact with senior staff at all of the schools re the same.

Upcoming events: TONIGHT there will be a Police Street Surgery at The Meadows 19:00 - 19:15

TONIGHT: I will be attending the Trentham Central Residents Association meeting, which is taking place at 19:30 at the Trentham Community Library, Allerton Road.

On Friday 29th March at 11am I will be meeting with the Trentham South Residents Association on Burrington Dr to celebrate the recently installed defibrillator -  I look forward to seeing everyone!

On Friday 29th March at 2pm I will be meeting with Trading Standards and completing a walkabout. If you would like to join us or wish to raise any matters we are commencing the walkabout from the Man In Space car park

On Saturday 5th April the Hanford Resident's Association is having an Annual General Meeting (AGM). The meeting will be at St Matthias Church, Church Lane, commencing at 10am. I look forward to seeing everyone.

And lastly, at the Trentham Parish Church, on Wednesday mornings from 9:30am - 11am they hold a ‘Warm Space’ event, where residents are invited to come along for hot drinks, toast, biscuits. This sounds great and I look forward to attending very soon!

I am currently at Hanford Park following a report of motorbikes at the location. Whilst attending i have reported broken glass that is currently by the bike ramps to the environmental department at the Council.

My next stops are Brinsley Av and Chivelstone Gr to take a look at the parking problems at this location.

Have a great rest of the week everyone, as always if you see me on patrol and need anything always stop me,

Kind regards,

Scott
