Here’s your quick round up from the Lozells and East Handsworth Policing team.

 

Local Crime:

Here are the crime updates for the Lozells and East Handsworth area from 25th February 2025 and 15th March 2025.

 

Albert Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 12.15am and 10.40am on 01/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Peugeot 2008. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means, searched the interior and stole £2 in cash.

Whitehall Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 2.41am and 10.25am on 01/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, locked and unattended Peugeot 207. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means and searched interior. Not sure if any items were taken. 

Osbourne Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 4.54am and 4.55am on 28/02/2025, unknown persons approached an insecure, parked and unattended Audi Quattro. Offenders gained entry via passenger’s side door. Offenders stole a scooter and charger. 

Hall Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 1.41am and 2.52pm on 01/02/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Toyota Auris. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means. Offenders stole £5 in cash from the centre console. 

Hamstead Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 3.40am on 01/03/2025 and 12.38pm 02/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Mazda 3 Venture. Offenders gained access to the vehicle by unknown means. Offenders stole a jacket and a watch. 

City College – Soho Road – Theft of a pedal cycle – Between 12.30pm and 3pm on 03/03/2025, unknown persons stole a locked and unattended black bicycle with silver writing to the value of £70. 

York Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 10pm on 05/03/2025 and 8.54am on 06/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Vauxhall Corsa. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means and stole a bag containing barbers’ equipment to the value of £500. 

Holly Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 10.30am and 11.20am on 05/03/2025, unknown persons approached an insecure, parked and unattended Ford Transit Van. Offenders gained entry to vehicle. They stole a leaf blowing machine and bank card. 

Leonard Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 11pm on 05/03/2025 and 8.15am on 06/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Mercedes E350 Sport CDi. Offenders gained entry to vehicle through rear window on the drivers side of vehicle which was slightly open. Offenders stole designer sunglasses, disability badge and £5 cash. 

Leonard Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 12.20pm on 05/03/2025 and 1pm on 06/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Mercedes E350.  Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means, Offenders stole a coat, bottle of aftershave, a glue gun and an electric sander. 

Hamstead Road – Other criminal damage to a vehicle – Between 7pm on 07/03/2025 and 2pm on 08/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Ford Galaxy. On returning to vehicle that was parked on carpark, vehicle was found with a smashed window. 

Antrobus Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 9pm on 11/03/2025 and 8.40am on 12/03/2025, unknown persons approached an insecure, parked and unattended Ford Focus. Offenders entered vehicle, pulled rears seats down and entered the boot. Offenders stole a Lenovo Laptop, sets of pots, Sat Nav and documents. 

Manwoods Close – Theft from a motor vehicle -Between 12.40am on 11/03/2025 and 3.15am on 12/03/2025, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended VW Transporter. Offenders gained entry to the vehicle by unknown means. Offenders stole wallet and Dashcam from vehicle. 

Hall Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 5.38am and 5.39am on 14/03/2025, unknown persons approached secure, parked and unattended Skoda Octavia. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means and stole £5.50 on change from central compartment. 

 

Good news:

 

  • 03/03/2025 – Officers arrested 39-year-old male for Malicious Communications and Harassment.
  • 06/03/2025 – Officers arrested 50-year-old female for Indecent Exposure on Linwood Road.
  • 07/03/2025 – Sergeant Lampitt attended a joint meeting with Soho Bid and Area management of Bet Fred to discuss on-going ASB issues with Bet Fred Soho Road. 
  • 11/03/2025 – Officers arrested intoxicated male on Grove Lane. Male and friends caught a bus on Grove Lane, once on bus he began to distress other passengers on the bus. Male arrested of Affray and Possession of Class A. 
  • 13/03/2025 – Officers arrested male on Soho Road for Robbery after approaching elderly male and threatening him for money.
  • 15/03/2025 – Officers arrested 60-year-old male on Grove Lane for Fail to provide.
  •  

     

  • 15/03/2025 – All out day on Soho Road with Soho Bid, Nishkam Security and Birmingham parking enforcement. One vehicle seized for no tax. Fourteen parking tickets were issued and several people were given words of advice regarding their parking.
