Afternoon
Over the last month there has been 32 reports of Nuisance Anti-Social Behaviour in the Leyland West Area (Moss Side, Wade Hall, Seven Stars and Worden Areas of Leyland). Most incidents were dealt with by our neighbourhood team and positive outcomes were achieved.
There have been 3 reports of theft from stores in the area. The police have been working with the victims and working towards positive outcomes.
We have introduced Op VULTURE. It was created as a result of the National Retail Crime Action Plan, which was launched in October 2023 and sets out policing’s commitment to tackling shoplifting and prioritizing attendance where violence was involved, or a shoplifter was detained. It also recognized that, to make improvements, there is a necessity to develop a robust partnership approach between policing and all retailers.
There have been 1 reports of Burglary in the area. The Police Initial Response teams have deployed to coordinate scenes and support the victim. This has been followed up by the Neighbourhood team and Op DEFENDER. Op DEFENDER is the force-wide name given to tacking residential burglary (it does not include commercial burglary). Op DEFENDER is built on Op FORAGER – the consensus that once a burglary takes place, another is highly likely within 400m of the targeted address within a two-week period.
We have had multiple reports of vehicles driving in an Anti-Social Manner and we want to thank everyone who has reported these to us.
If a vehicle is being used in this way, the police can seize it immediately or they may serve a notice to the owner and driver/rider. The notice warns all concerned that if the vehicle is used again in that way by anyone, on that occasion, it will be seized. It also warns the offending driver that if they drive or ride in the same way during the next year, the vehicle they are using may be seized - whoever it belongs to. | ||||
