Officers from the Neighbourhood Task Force (NTF) attended ScrewFix in Swanley (PC 13891 PANTON & PCSO 62732 SOWAMBER) and hosted a tool marking event on Monday 24th March 2025, officers meet members of the public attending the ScrewFix store and explained the benefits of having their expensive tools marked, and should they be stolen it provides Kent Police an opportunity to track/trace who the owners are should the stolen tools be located, in order for Kent Police to charge people for either the initial theft of tools or handling stolen goods Kent Police need a victim of crime.

Another tip can be to scratch initials onto the tools or use a permanent marker pen so any tools located during any enquries by Kent police/any police force then could it makes it easier to track/trace the owners.
