Good evening Mr Morphet,
Thank you for signing up to North Yorkshire Police's Alert Messaging System.
Unfortunately, parking on double yellow lines was decriminalised several years ago and the Police no longer to enforce them. Infringements such as this are now dealt with North Yorkshire Council. These can be reported by either calling 01423 500 600 or by email Parking.Services.har@northyorks.gov.uk
Parking on pavements can be dealt with by the Police. Contrary to popular belief there is no specific offence of parking a car on a footpath. However, motorist can be dealt with the offence of obstruction. In order to enforce this we would have to prove that pedestrian access was impeded, e.g. to push chairs, wheel chairs etc.
If there is a specific location where this is an issue, please let me know and I will certainly have a look.
Regards
Craig Blake PC 1418 Neighbourhood Policing Craven | ||||
