Speed Awareness Event on the A57 Sheffield Rd, Glossop - Sunday 9th March

Glossop SNT - Speed Awareness Event

Glossop SNT completed a speed awareness event on the A 57 betwen 1 pm and 2 pm today, Sunday 9th March. It was held on Sheffield Rd, Glossop, at the entrance/exit of the Snake Pass. The speed limit on Sheffield Rd is 30 mph.

Vehicles were monitored coming into Glossop on the West bound carriage way only (off the Snake Pass) on this occasion.

A total of 292 vehciles went by the team in the hour, with the highest recorded speed of 45mph.

The first really sunny Sunday of the year saw a high volume of vehicles using the road and sadly to say there was a reported RTC (Road Traffic Collison) between a motor vehcile and motorbilke, resulting in the A57 being closed for over an hour this afternoon.

We kindly remind all drivers visiting our area or passing through to please adhere to speed limits and prioritize safe driving practices.
