A boy has been arrested after a group of teenagers were robbed in Cannock town centre.
Five teenagers were approached on Market Street at around 4.40pm on Sunday 23 February by a group of eight or nine teenagers. The victims reported seeing a knife in the waistband of one of the teen’s trousers.
A 15-year-old boy had his phone, watch, bank card, coat and electric scooter stolen and was punched in the face. He did not require hospital treatment. Three other boys, aged 14, also had their phones stolen.
A 13-year-old boy, from the Walsall area, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue. We have been investigating a number of recent incidents where young people have been targeted by thieves in the Cannock area.
Tonight, officers from the Cannock local policing team (LPT) and local teachers will be patrolling anti-social behaviour (ASB) hotspots to help reassure members of the community and answer any questions they may have. |
