In an effort to engage with local residents and enhance community safety, officers from the Sevenoaks Beat team attended the Sevenoaks Weald Community Café, known as a Place of Welcome. The event aimed to foster dialogue on community concerns and provide crime prevention insights tailored to the attendees. During the gathering, officers engaged with local resdients through a brief presentation on pertinent topics such as ATM distraction thefts and pickpocketing. Following the talk, officers interacted individually with attendees, addressing specific questions and distributing crime prevention resources. These efforts included handing out free crime prevention items to assist residents in safeguarding their homes and belongings. PC Nick Hubbard said: This was a great event, it was fantastic to speak with residents face to face and offer crime prevention advice bespoke to them. Attendees were very engaging and it was good to find out what crime was affecting them the most, we gave away a lot of purse chains. We also came away with valuable intel about other issues within the community, making it a very worthwhile visit. I hope to continue visits throughout the year, to ensure engagement on various community-related topics.
