Dear Resident, Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Wolverhampton City Centre neighbourhood policing team. What’s been happening Guardian Patrols. This week we continue our patrols around the city centre focusing on Anti-Social behaviour and Violent crime. We use this time to communicate with the public giving them a chance to voice their concerns around the city whilst also visiting businesses to provide a visible presence to deter criminal behaviour.Night Time Economy. As always our team was out and about all evening throughout the weekend making sure everyone had a safe night, continuing into the early hours of the morning. Update on shoplifting. We know there has been significant concern in the community regarding shoplifting, particularly after the Christmas period. We are pleased to inform visitors and businesses that shoplifting is high on the priority list of your neighbourhood team and we have been proactive in the apprehension and charging of some known shoplifters this week.What to watch. Please continue to keep yourselves safe when visiting the city centre and make sure all belongings are kept securely within bags and purses, Lock your vehicles and don't leave valuables on display, finally enjoy what Wolverhampton has to offer. Events. Our Police Community Support Officers will be in the Wulfrun Centre on Thursday 20th February offering Crime Prevention advice to the community, Please come down and have a chat. Finally, A big thanks to all the businesses and security staff that got involved with helping to locate missing persons this week, its always very much appreciated all the assistance we receive and the location of missing persons will continue to be a top priority with the team.
