We have had 2x Blank Firing Hand Pistols handed in to Middleton Police Station today.

This is nothing to be concerned about, and are legal to buy in the UK (18+) unless they are easiy conveted. The owner has willingly handed them in. Some of these can be converted into prohibited handguns. 

The Home Office has offered an amnesty for certain types of TVBF ( Top Venting Blank Firing) pistols and these particular ones fall under that amnesty and so the owner has rightfully handed them in.

GMP's Firearms Officers will complete a make safe on both pistols and they will be destroyed.
