I hope you are all having a great week. It's been a very busy but a fantastic week for me so far & there's a lot to update you on…

At the time of sending this alert I am very pleased to report that we now have 599 residents signed up to ‘Smart Alerts’. I just wanted to send a big thank you to everyone for helping create what I am hoping will be a very successful platform to keep residents updated, reassured and living in a safer community. I hope you are all finding these alerts useful, any feedback (positive or negative) is always welcomed. 

ASB (anti-social behaviour updates)

A resident has brought to my attention the use of off road bikes on the canal. We have not had any recent reports - however if this has been an issue, please could you reply to this message and let me know. Patrols of the canal will be increased if required. 

 Yesterday (21/01/25) a male was seen acting anti-socially towards some residents and property on Brough Lane- this was witnessed by myself and his behaviour immediately addressed to prevent any further issues.    

Cold Callers/Rogue Traders

In recent weeks there have been incidents where unfortunately Cold Callers have attended properties and occupants have paid excessive amounts for very poor/very little work. Please do not agree to have work done by Cold Callers. Instead please research for the best traders, ask friends, family, neighbours, persons you trust for their recommendations. Get a minimum of 3 quotes from 3 different companies before agreeing to any work. If a Cold Caller attends your property and you have any concerns, please do not hesitate in calling 999. 

Today I have attended properties in Trentham & Hanford where traders were or have been present to help safeguard residents from Rogue Traders. I am happy to report I came across no issues but this continuously remains something I keep a very close eye on when on patrol. 

School Visits  

Today I have attended Ash Green Academy and spoke in the school assembly to years 3, 4, 5 and 6. It was great to give advice around road safety, school parking and spoke about my role in helping the community.

It's been great to have seen an improvement regarding the parking, particularly in Meadowside. 

I visited the Priory CE Academy earlier this week. I am happy to report that their ‘Safer School’ project is going really well, with improvements around school parking already been seen. As part of the project, children at the school have been creating posters, which will soon be seen around the school… here's a look at some…

A big thank you to all those collecting children who everyday park sensibly to help make our roads as safe as possible.

Today I attended the ‘Bereavement Café’ in Trentham. They meet every Wednesday from 11:45 - 13:00 at the Trentham Parish Church -  It's a great place to make new friends and to have a warm drink. I have had the pleasure of being a guest speaker three times and I am already looking forward to making that four. The group meets in the building next to the church, (please see picture below) - and everyone is welcome.  

Police Street Surgeries… 

A Street Surgery is where I will be present in a randomly selected street, and residents are welcome to come and speak to me, whether to raise neighbourhood issues or just to say hello. My aim is to complete one in every street in Trentham & Hanford - If you would like your street to be next please let me know.
