Whilst Chapel Haddlesey school has been closed over the Christmas holidays, it has been discovered on their return that heating Oil has been stolen from the tank at the location . It is believed that suspects have approached the tank in a vehicle from an adjacent field as tyre marks are apparent. The fence surrounding the tank has been cut and approx. £500 of oil has been stolen. Please remain vigilant with the security of oil tanks, if possible, Hide the location of the tank. Fit your oil tank with a padlock or lockable filler cap. Secure the oil tank within a cage. Install lockable gates. Fit an electronic gauge, which can activate an alarm when the oil level drops. Fit security lights near to the oil tank location. Fit CCTV cameras.
