Appeals

Appeal following fatal collision with a pedestrian on the A27 in Worthing

The A27 has reopened following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Arundel Road, near Teign Walk on Wednesday, October 30, at around 8pm.

Sadly, a 69-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

We are undertaking enquiries to establish the circumstances around the collision, and ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage to contact police.

You can make a report by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, or by calling 101 quoting reference 1257 of 30/10.

Crime Reports

Over the past month, there has been a total of twelve burglaries where properties have been broken into and personal items have been stolen.

Some of the break ins occurred when the occupant was away from the property.

We are encouraging residents to make sure they keep lights on timers, or turned on when away from their homes and keep personal and valuable items away from windows and doors.

High value items should be kept in a safe and the key kept in a secure location or on your own key ring at all times.

Make sure you secure your garden gates, doors and windows and to not leave empty boxes for recycling in view of everyone. Try and break them down as small as possible and place in the recycling bin. If they still do not fit, consider taking them to the recycling centre.

In terms of vehicle crime, there have been a total of nineteen incidents of vehicle crime, where there have been thefts of motorbikes/mopeds, theft of a car, vehicle break ins where wallets have been stolen and work equipment being stolen whilst unloading a car. Also included in the nineteen incidents were reports of criminal damage.

Please be vigilant when leaving belongings unattended in your vehicles and ensure that all personal belongings are removed.
