Good morning,
Unfortunately, yesterday ( 07.05.2024) at approximately 1900, there was a burglary committed within a flat in Meadow Road, Farnborough. As well as appealing to the community for witnesses, perhaps you saw something that didn't sit right with you, we will also send some crime prevention ideas to help secure your home and your garden.
If you do think you have seen something in relation to the burglary above, please let us know by contacting 101 and quoting 44240191329, or using our online contact tool.
How else can you secure your home? With a focus on the outside, please consider whether any of the following might help you:
Are your fences secure? There's several ways of approaching this; 1- Do you have garden bins placed outside which unintentionally provide easy access into your garden? 2- Do you have the ‘bad’ side of the fence placed in a way, that also provides easy access into your garden? 3- Are your fence panels secure within their posts? 4- Could you use trellis on the top which acts as a deterrent to climbing over fences ( subject to planning etc). Turn off your garden tap from the inside- it prevents it being turned on to test whether you are at home or not
And finally, please do not advertise your time away from home on platforms such as social media. It's surprising how much information we give away about ourselves online, and someone with poor morals might be able to work out what property is empty from your posts and photographs. If you have any concerns, please let me know. If you think you have information in relation to this burglary, please contact our switchboards as per instructions above.
Kind Regards
PC Annette Barnett | ||||
