Proactive Arrest

Your Neighbourhood Beat officers and Ashford Community Safety unit have been working hard on tackling drug dealing offences.

On Wednesday 1st May 2024 Ashford Neighbourhood Task Force officers were patrolling Victoria ward in a marked vehicle and sighted a suspicious vehicle leaving a location which has been seen coming away from an area identified to be suffering from drug dealing offences. Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the driver for a section 23 Misuse of drugs act search. Both the vehicle and driver were searched resulting in a large quantity of cash being located as well as a quantity of suspected Class A drugs.

The driver was arrested and has since been charged for drugs and driving offences.
