Anti-Social Driving.

Dear Resident,

On Friday 26th April 2024 and Saturday 27th April 2024, the St Georges, Priorslee and Muxton Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) conducted a joint roads policing operation with Newport SNT, our aim was to tackle anti-social driving and road traffic offences in the local area, in particular focusing on RED HILL WAY, DONNINGTON WOOD WAY, WROCKWARDINE WOOD WAY, MOSSEY GREEN WAY, A518, A41 and surrounding areas.

This operation involved both marked and unmarked vehicles, with support from officers from other teams.

Whilst the manner of driving observed was generally as we would expect, there were unfortunately occasions where it was not.

Officers did have cause to stop some vehicles. Some of the drivers were given words of advice at the roadside, some were issued with advisory letters and one was issued with a Warning Notice under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, the driver of that vehicle now runs the risk of having their vehicle seized should they be seen driving in an anti-social manner again (along with any other offences witnessed).

During the operation we were also able to make observations which helped build an intelligence picture around traffic issues in the area.

These operations will continue so we can keep our roads safe and reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.

If you are aware of any vehicles regularly being driven in an anti-social manner, please report these to us at our website: www.westmercia.police.uk

Kind regards,

St Georges, Priorslee and Muxton SNT.
