Arrest Update

Following several incidents in Tavistock Town during the afternoon of 26th April and after seeking advice from the Crown prosecution service, Tavistock Police have secured charges for an individual for being drunk and disorderly in a public place, assault on an emergency worker and a homophobically motivated S.4a public order offence. A 19-year-old female local to Tavistock has been remanded in Police custody to appear at Plymouth Magistrates Court on 29th April.

Local Policing Sergeant Thomas Ottley said,

“I would like to reassure the public that we are cognisant of ongoing anti-social behaviour around the town and our efforts are focused on the specific individuals linked to most reports and the locations where repeated issues have been recorded. With this in mind, I ask the public to ensure that they are reporting issues they may be experiencing through the proper channels so we can direct our efforts accordingly. I have seen much on social media in recent months regarding anti-social behaviour, but this has not then been reflected on our Police systems.”
