Charnwood West monthly Update

Dear Neighbourhood Link Member,

Here is an update on neighbourhood policing in the (NL56) neighbourhood.

New beat priorities

  • The beat team aim to target reports of speeding in Charnwood West villages. If you believe that there is an issue in your area, let the beat team know so that we can review and possibly target those areas also.

  • The beat team will engage with the community providing crime prevention advice, encourage the use of security measures to make properties more secure. Attending reports of burglaries to secure any evidence and pursue reasonable lines of enquiry to identify any offender aiming to reduce burglaries in Charnwood west villages.

  • The beat team aim to tackle different elements of ASB in Rothley and Quorn including around Kinchley Lane and the parks and beauty spots of Charnwood West

  •

What have the neighbourhood team been doing? “You said, we did” from last priorities

Our beat team has conducted a speed checks along Kinchley lane after a significant increase in reports of speed and general nuisance. Speed observations were completed and we monitored over 30 vehicles, all of which were all traveling at an appropriate speed of under 30mph.

As well as this our team have completed multiple high visibility patrols burglary patrols across the beat both in the day and at night, on foot and in vehicles. We held a Neighbourhood meeting at Mountsorrel Memorial centre on the 22/04/24 and provided crime prevention advice on Burglary, ASB and Fraud, handed out leaflets, and window alarms. More will follow across other villages in due course

There have been no significant reports of ASB over the past month outside of Kinchley Lane

This is just a small part of what the neighbourhood team have been doing, we have also been completing crime investigations, visible patrolling including 'hot spot' areas and engaging with residents and businesses in the area.

    Protect your property against vandalism

Vandalism is where property is maliciously destroyed or damaged - frequently without theft being involved. Safeguard your property with our advice below.

    1. Keep it visible

    2. Create a boundary

    3. Protect what’s yours

    4. Don’t make it easy for them

    5. Keep it tidy

We encourage people to make sure their property is always secure before leaving their address. As well as this any safety equipment such as locks and alarms should be regularly checked and tested.

    Kind Regards,

    NL 56 Neighbourhood Team
