Sussex Police Alerts - Chichester District

Dear Residents,

The following information is taken from the 12/04/2024 to the 26/04/2024 for the Chichester District.

Residential Burglary

Orchard Avenue, Chichester – An attempt has been made to enter a garage. The suspects were unsuccessful and this was captured on CCTV.

Main Road, Southbourne – An unoccupied property has been broken into. No items have been taken. CCTV is being installed at the address.

Sheepwash, Elsted – A garden shed has been broken into and a bicycle has been stolen. There was no CCTV in the area.

Residents are reminded to consider the security surrounding their back/side doors. Often these are left open, whilst occupants are distracted inside the property, giving opportunist criminals a chance to enter. Consider using locks at all times, even if you are at home.

Vehicle Crime

Canal place, Chichester – A car was stolen from Canal Place. This was later located and recovered.

Dodsley Grove, Easebourne – A keyless car was stolen from outside the owner’s home address. No direct CCTV has been identified.

Lloyd Road, Chichester – A van has been broken into and tools / equipment have been taken. No CCTV opportunities have been identified.

North Walls, Chichester – A motorbike was taken from outside an address in Chichester. It was later recovered in a separate location and has been returned to owner.

St Georges Drive, Chichester – A car has been entered and a Dash Camera has been stolen. There was no CCTV in the area.

Green Lane – Front and rear numberplates were stolen from a car. No CCTV has been identified.

Avenue De Chartres, Chichester – A car’s window has been smashed and a camera was taken whilst the vehicle was parked in a car park. This incident was captured on CCTV.

Deanery Close, Chichester – Front and rear numberplates were taken from a car. There is CCTV of this occurring.

Your mobile phone, coins for the car park, sunglasses, packs of medication or other items that can earn quick cash are irresistible to the opportunist thief. Remember, the cost of replacing a window is often much more than that of what’s stolen. And it should go without saying that wallets, handbags, purses and credit cards should never be left in an unattended vehicle.

Fearless - Crimestoppers
