Sussex Police Alerts - Arun


Dear Residents, 

The following information is taken from the 12/04/2024 to the 26/04/2024 for the Arun District.

 

Residential Burglary

Sea Road, Littlehampton – A beach hut has been broken into. There was no timescale identified for the incident and no CCTV. 

North End Road, Yapton – An attempt has been made to break into a toolshed. No items were taken and the exact timescale is unknown. 

Macklin Road, Bognor Regis – Two persons were disrupted whilst attempting to break into a garden shed. They were unsuccessful and made away without taking any items. There was no CCTV. 

Elm Grove, Barnham – A residential property has been broken into and multiple personal items were taken. Entry was made through the back door. CCTV enquiries are on-going. 

Greynville Close, Aldwick – A residential property has been entered through an insecure back door and cash was taken. There was no direct CCTV. 

Norbren Avenue, Bersted – A vacant property has been entered, possibly through an insecure back door. The extend of damage caused cannot be ascertained and there is no CCTV at the location. 

 

Residents are reminded to consider the security surrounding their back/side doors. Often these are left open, whilst occupants are distracted inside the property, giving opportunist criminals a chance to enter. Consider using locks at all times, even if you are at home.

Vehicle Crime 

Crossbush Lane, Lyminster – A vehicle has been entered and power tools have been taken whilst it was parked in a car park. This area was covered by CCTV.

High Street, Arundel – A rear number plate has been stolen from a car. No CCTV has been identified. 

Hampshire Avenue, Bognor Regis – A car was broken into during nighttime hours and tools were stolen. There was no CCTV in the area. 

Tarrant Wharf, Arundel – A vehicle was broken into, and power tools were taken. This was not captured on CCTV.

London Road, Arundel – A front numberplate was taken from a campervan. There was no CCTV of this incident. 

Fullers Walk, Littlehampton – A van was broken into whilst it was parked in a residential car park. Power tools were taken. There was CCTV in the area. 

Blakehurst Lane, Warningcamp – A car was entered whilst it was parked in a residential car park. Tools were taken. This area was not covered by CCTV. 

Fitzalan Road, Arundel – Two vehicles have had their number plates was taken whilst parked on Fitzalan Road. This was not captured on CCTV. 

Amsbridge Crescent, Wick – A van has been broken into. There is possible CCTV in the area. 

High Street, Arundel – A van has been broken into and power tools were taken. Suspects smashed the van’s windows to gain entry. This area was not covered by CCTV.

Upper Bognor Road, Bognor Regis – A vehicle was broken into whilst unattended in a car park. Personal items were taken. The incident was captured on Dash-Cam.

Blakehurst Lane ­– A car has been broken into whilst parked near to a popular walking site. Personal items and cash were taken. There was no CCTV in the area.

The Martlets, Rustington – A insecure vehicle was entered and personal items were taken. There was no CCTV available. 

North End Road, Yapton – A car was stolen from a driveway. The area was not directly covered by CCTV. 

Kenilworth Road, Bognor Regis – A car was entered and personal items were taken. It is not confirmed if the vehicle was secure at the time and there is no CCTV covering the incident. 

Church Way, Pagham – A works van has been broken into and tools and personal items were taken. There was no CCTV at the location.

Downview Road, Barnham – A vehicle has been broken into and a Sat-Nav has been stolen. There was no CCTV in the area. 

Heath Place, Bersted – A vehicle was taken from a yard area. The timeframe given of the theft is large there was no CCTV at the location.

Gloucester Road, Littlehampton – Number plates have been taken from a car. No CCTV footage has been identified. 

East Ham Road, Littlehampton – A car has been entered overnight and personal items taken. There was no CCTV in the area. 

Gordon Avenue, Bognor Regis – A vehicle has been entered and electrical items taken. This happened in early April and there was no CCTV in the area. 

Claigmar Road, Rustington – A motorbike was stolen in Rustington. It was secured with a disc lock and chain through the wheel prior to being taken. No CCTV was available. 

Johnson Way, Ford – Front and rear numberplates have been taken from a car. The timeframe for this theft is from Easter.

Maltravers Street, Arundel – Front and rear numberplates have been taken from a car. There is a three-week timeframe for when this theft occurred. 

Renoir Mews, Bognor Regis – A van has been broken into and high value power-tools were taken. The incident was captured on CCTV. A car was also entered on the same road/date and personal items taken.

Upper Bognor Road, Bognor Regis –  A car has been stolen from a car park. CCTV was available.

 

Your mobile phone, coins for the car park, sunglasses, packs of medication or other items that can earn quick cash are irresistible to the opportunist thief. Remember, the cost of replacing a window is often much more than that of what’s stolen. And it should go without saying that wallets, handbags, purses and credit cards should never be left in an unattended vehicle.

Two people have been arrested following a drugs warrant in Littlehampton. Officers executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant on an address in Clifton Road at around 7.45am on 12 April.

Two arrested over drug farm:
Two men have been jailed for running a cannabis farm in Littlehampton. Acting on intelligence, officers from the West Sussex Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) attended a unit in Riverside Industrial Estate, Bridge Road at around 3.45pm on Friday, 12 January.

Sussex Police Appeals

Littlehampton two incidents:
Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of two linked incidents in Littlehampton. At around 3.45pm on Wednesday, 17 April two reports were made of a man acting suspiciously towards young girls in an alleyway known as the “dog walk”, off Eldon Way, near the Kingley Gate area.
