Blythe Crime update.


Dear Resident,

Here are the Reported Crimes on Blythe from Thursday 18th April – Friday 26th April 2024.

Burglary.

18/04/24. 1:34am. Three Offenders entered through a neighbours side gate and used refuse bins and garden furniture to climb over a fence into a neigbours garden on Charleswood Avenue. Patio doors were lock snapped but alarm was activated. No entry was gained. Offenders made off in a red car.

Attempted Burglary.

No attempted burglaries have been reported.

Theft of Motor vehicle.

18/04/24 - 4.35pm. Robbery. A 16 plate Transit van with keys was stolen from Kettlebrook Road. The driver was approached by a white male in a balaclava who demanded the keys to the vehicle. The van which contained tools was driven off by the Offender.  

Between 25/04/24 – 7:45pm -26/04/24  8:45am a 69 plate Vauxhall Combo van was stolen without keys from Ledwell, Dickens Heath.

 

On going patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. 

 

On Sunday a Land Rover Discovery was recovered from Spinney Drive Cheswick Green, by St. Alphege NPT after a resident reported it had been dropped off at 1am in the morning. The vehicle was found by Police to be unlocked and the rear interior boot panels had been removed allowing access to the electrical systems.

On Tuesday morning St. Alphege NPT meet up with residents at The Cheswick Café, which is held every Tuesday from 10:00am -midday in the Village Hall.

On Wednesday Community Speed Watch between 7pm-8pm taken place on Dickens Heath Road a 20 MPH speed limit. Sixteen vehicles exceeded the speed limit and warming letters have been posted out. Fulford Hall Road Tidbury Green 30MPH zero vehicles exceeded the speed limit when checked.

  • Ensure that all shrubs and hedges do NOT encroach the maximum height of 1m and Tree canopies are lifted to 1.8m. This allows for maximum natural surveillance.

  • Ensure that all fences are the same height as smaller fencing abutting higher fencing acts as a potential climbing aid for offenders.

  • Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary.

  • Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
