North Yorkshire police have received a report this morning from a member of the public living in Sharow , The reporting person has made us aware that her vehicle was left insecure with doors unlocked. The offender has accessed the vehicle during the hours of darkness and has removed a purse from the vehicle they have then taken money from the purse, the purse was then discarded.

Please be aware opportunists are out there and may well try both car doors and property doors, make sure all doors are locked when vehicles are parked up unattended,  property doors should also be kept secure at all times
