Loughborough Central 7 Day Neighbourhood Crime Update

Good evening to you!

Here is a update on neighbourhood policing in the Loughborough Central neighbourhood. 

Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

 

Our Crime Report for the last 7 days are:

  • Burglary other than dwelling x 1
  • Residential burglary x 0

  • Our Priorities update:

  • To reduce the number of cycles stolen within the Loughborough town centre area and provide advice in relation to keeping cycles secure - Issued 07 April 2024

    Action taken:
    It is pleasing to see that more recently there has been a decrease in the number of reports of stolen cycles across the area of Loughborough. Police continue with their bike register schemes, and crime prevention advice surgeries, where members of the public can register their bike details to a national register - Actioned 19 April 2024

  • Reduce Anti social behaviour reported by residents across the local area in varying formats including car cruise meetings, noisy parties - Issued 07 April 2024

    Action taken:

    Operation Lexical will be providing additional officers on the ground in relation to any potential anti social behaviour at the end of the academic year in and around the town centre

    Police are still progressing a camera for the A512 at Loughborough which will assist with the enforcement and prevention of what is termed car cruises.

    It is hopeful that the camera will be in place very shortly

    Police have today(19/04/24) attended Magistrates court and been granted an extension to a current closure order in the Park Road area of Loughborough.

    The initial order was granted following serious incidents of anti social behaviour related to drugs - Actioned 19 April 2024

  • Drug related Anti social behaviour including that of drug supply and use - Issued 07 April 2024

    Action taken:

    Police have attended Magistrates court and been granted an extension to a current closure order in the Park Road area of Loughborough. The initial order was granted following serious incidents of anti social behaviour related to drugs

    Police are making further inquiries in relation to a further property where reports have been made of anti social behaviour which is believed to be drug related.

    Police are conducting patrols in and around the town centre where it is believed that persons are using or dealing drugs

    A male has been arrested from a property in the town centre on suspicion of possessing drugs with an intent to supply, the investigation continues - Actioned 19 April 2024
