Keeping your roads safe

 

On Friday 19th April between 17:00 – 19:30 hours, a Safer Roads Traffic Operation took place on Oldham Road & Queensway Rochdale coordinated by the Kirkholt & Castleton Neighbourhood policing team assisted by the divisional tutor unit. 

 

The successful operation saw drivers reported for summons / issued with fixed penalties and offered words of advice, this resulting from varying motoring offences committed.

This operation follows several previously reported incidents of speeding and inconsiderate driving in the areas.

 

In the short time of the operation a total of 28 vehicles were stopped where,

 

1 driver was issued with a summons for exceeding the 30mph speed limit at 43mph

1 vehicle was seized under Sect 165 of the Road traffic Act for No Insurance

1 driver was issued a Summons for an Expired provisional license, No insurance, No seatbelt.

4 drivers were issued traffic offence reports for use of mobile phones when driving.

20 vehicles were stopped for general checks 

1 driver issued with words of advice.

 

The Kirkholt Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to thank all the drivers who adhere to the Road Traffic Act.
