Rogue Traders - Station Road, Steeton BD20

Dear Resident,

At 11.30am on 11/04/2024, the victim reported a suspicious incident on Station Road, Steeton. The victim was approached by a 'roofer' who stated that he had done work on the house next door ( which it was later confirmed they had not ) and noticed that some of her roof tiles were loose. However, the roof had only been repaired in September 2023 and didn't need any work. The roofers wanted £850 to repair the roof.

A local tradesman attended and took pictures of the damaged tiles which have now been repaired for £60. It is believed that the suspects may have moved / damaged the tiles to create the impression that work needed doing on the roof.

The suspects left a business card in the name of DRYZONE ROOFING AND GUTTERING. This company does not appear to exist.

Be wary of cold calling trades persons, please pass this information on to others in the area.

Crime occurrence 13240185459 refers.
