Dear Resident,
At 11.30am on 11/04/2024, the victim reported a suspicious incident on Station Road, Steeton. The victim was approached by a 'roofer' who stated that he had done work on the house next door ( which it was later confirmed they had not ) and noticed that some of her roof tiles were loose. However, the roof had only been repaired in September 2023 and didn't need any work. The roofers wanted £850 to repair the roof. A local tradesman attended and took pictures of the damaged tiles which have now been repaired for £60. It is believed that the suspects may have moved / damaged the tiles to create the impression that work needed doing on the roof. The suspects left a business card in the name of DRYZONE ROOFING AND GUTTERING. This company does not appear to exist.
