Police survey for Cuffley residents

Dear Resident

Residents in Cuffley are invited to take part in a survey, sharing their views on local crime, as officers work to tackle burglaries in the area.

Operation Guardian, which aims to tackle and prevent burglaries, is currently underway in the following areas:

  • The Ridgeway
  • Vineyards Road
  • Carbone Hill
  • Residents in those streets are encouraged to fill in the survey to help officers understand more about the issues affecting them.

The survey can be filled in online at bit.ly/opguardian-cuffley.

Operation Guardian sees officers carrying out a combination of plain-clothes and high-visibility patrols in the hotspot areas identified. In addition, residents can expect a knock on the door from their local, friendly PCSOs, who will be able to supply residents with useful crime prevention advice.

Officers are also encouraging residents to sign up to Herts Connected, the constabulary’s new messaging system which replaces OWL. Those who sign up will receive updates about local crime and advice on keeping safe.

Welwyn Hatfield Chief Inspector Pete Frost said: “Burglary has a huge financial and emotional impact on victims which is why are committed to tackling it. Operation Guardian is our dedicated response and I am pleased to report that we have seen a decrease in offences since the operation was launched before Christmas.

“As part of Operation Guardian, we want to hear your feedback. The survey is easy to fill in and only takes a few minutes. The information you give will help us shape the operation going forwards and will give us a better understanding of where to focus our efforts.

“I would also like to remind residents to sign up to Herts Connected at hertsconnected.co.uk for all the latest local updates and crime prevention advice. It is valuable tool which will help us keep in touch with you.

“Finally, please do take a moment to read the crime prevention advice on our website at herts.police.uk/crimeprevention. There are lots of tips on how you can keep your property secure and less of a target for burglars.”
