Arson In Your Area

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police and Humberside Fire & Rescue Service are investigating an arson which occurred to garden fences and trees on Collingwood Crescent, Grimsby. This incident occurred between 9:30-9:50pm on Friday 12/04/2024. The offender(s) approached the wooden garden fence which is accessed on Laceby Road (adjacent to the footpath that leads to Morrisons) and set fire to the fence and nearby trees by unknown means. This fire then spread to neighbouring garden fences. Thankfully, no persons were injured and the quick response from the fire service prevented further damage.

If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 24*50995 and 24*51009.

Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward.

There has been a small series of arson related offences in the Laceby Road area over the last month and we are working hard to try and identify those responsible. Two juvenile males were arrested two weeks ago in relation to an arson at the Bradley Inn pub, and are currently on police bail with conditions. We have increased our patrols in these areas, and will continue to do so, both on foot and in police vehicles. We are also working collaboratively with Humberside Fire and Rescue Service to provide crime prevention advice and reassurance to local residents and local businesses. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service have their own arson reporting system, please see attachment.

If you have any questions or concerns about these issues then please don't hesitate to stop us during our patrols in the area, or alternatively you can reply to this message.

Finally, if you see any persons acting suspiciously in the area then please do report it to us via 101, or 999 if an emergency.

Kind Regards
