Crime Alert - Theft From a Vehicle


Dear Resident,

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a Theft from a vehicle from Springbank, Grimsby.

The incident occurred between 12:40-12:50pm on 13/04/2024. The offender(s) approached a parked vehicle on the roadside and opened the unlocked door, where they then stole a purse from a handbag which was placed in the passenger footwell of the vehicle. The offender then walked off in an unknown direction.

If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 24*50043.

Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward.

To try and prevent any further occurrences please read through the below advice -

  • Keep the vehicle locked at all times
  • Do not leave any valuables or "interesting" items on display
  • Remove from the car any items not required for that journey
  • When at home park the car as near to your home as possible
  • When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated
  • Use a key signal blocker bag to protect your vehicles electronic entry code
  • Consider fitting a car alarm or other security measures visit www.securedbydesign.com for approved companies
