March Monthly Beat Priorities update

Good morning everyone,

Please see the below in regards to the Monthly Beat Priorities for the Cultural Quarter (NC66) concluding the priorities set from January.

The new priorities will be published shortly for the next three months commencing from April.

Anti-Social Behaviour.

March update; The beat team continue to take a proactive and visible approach to ASB on the beat. Partner agencies are businesses are working with the Police to resolve these issues and by targeting those persistent and repeat offenders we are reducing the impact they are having on our community. Specific Operations have been ran within the City targeting ASB issues such as E-scooters on the pavement which have been successful. As always the team continue to offer safeguarding to our community and the wider public.

Theft from Motor Vehicle.

March update; The early morning patrols by PCSO’s Zed and Mark have continued into March which is having a significant impact on the number of people congregating within stairwells at these locations. This in conjunction with advising members of public on vehicle security has had an impact on the number of reported thefts from Motor Vehicles.

Burglary dwelling/non dwelling.

March update; The beat have remained consistently vigilant and taking a proactive approach to burglaries. We continue to work with businesses and owners of insecure properties offering safety and security advice.

Drug taking and drug supply.

March update; March saw a week of action taken in regards to County Lines and drug supply within the City Centre. As a result a large number of drugs, money and property was recovered. The beat team continues to work with partner agencies to support those most vulnerable in our community who are at risk of criminal exploitation and supporting them.

Kind regards,
