Spiking awareness week

Last week, we joined police forces across the country last week (18-24 March) for Spiking Intensification Week, a national week of action to raise awareness of all we and our partners are doing to combat spiking, protect the public and bring perpetrators to justice. 

In Lewes, your Neighbourhood Policing Team attended a number of schools and colleges, as well as hosting an awareness event in the town centre, speaking to 100's of people, raising awareness of, and sharing tips and tools with young girls and women; who are particularly vulnerable to these types of crimes, on how to stay safe whilst on a night out. In addition to working with partners, officers and staff carried out a range of engagement and intensification activities, including with licensed venues, who work closely with us to make sure their customers are protected, to complement the tireless work that goes into tackling spiking all year round.

Police.uk launches new App

To help you find what you need from policing a new app has been launched called ‘Police UK’.

You can find out all sorts of information about your local policing team, who they are, where they are based, how to contact them and if there are any upcoming events and news from your local area.

This is just part of what is available through the new app which you can download via both the Google Play and iOS App stores.
