City Centre Retail Crime Awareness Day

Our City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out patrolling with our Partners Cityco and Business Security Officers

We have been on the look out for Shoplifters and anyone causing Anti-Social Behaviour.

Our Business Liaison Officer PC Luke Ellwood has been visiting Businesses giving out Crime Prevention and Security Advice to Retailers and Businesses.

We have made arrests for Shoplifting and Public Order Offences today.

Our Specialist Plain Clothes Officers have been looking out for any Suspicious persons and known Shoplifters.

Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) Crime, Physical and Verbal assaults on customer-facing staff is an unacceptable issue in Manchester city centre.

Greater Manchester City Centre Neigbouhour Policing Team,  CityCo and Manchester City Centre BID (Business Improvement District), along with Manchester City Council, are committed to working in partnership to tackle ASB and ensure Manchester is a safe place for people who work in the city, residents and visitors.

Message from Superintendent Nicola Williams,  “GMP fully supports the Stop it! campaign and encourages businesses to make sure staff are aware of all the reporting tools available – calling 999, 101 or using our live chat or online reporting mechanisms. “Community safety and tackling neighbourhood crime are priorities for GMP. Our policing provision in the city centre has grown in recent months, we have more neighbourhood officers on the beat, and are expanding our Neighbourhood Crime Team
