Theft from a van overnight in your area

A work van has been broken into overnight in Ash Lane Haxby and tools were stolen. A window was smashed in order to reach the vehicle's internal lock.

If you have a work van parked overnight, please keep security in mind. You can make it much harder for offenders to target your vehicle by:

  • Removing tools overnight where possible or hiding them out of sight
  • Adding internal security such as tool lockers or improved door locks
  • Fitting a vehicle alarm and tracker
  • Fitting a dash cam
  • Parking in front of CCTV or a video doorbell where possible
  • Parking on a driveway with rear doors up against a solid object
  • If you experience any issues in the area or have any useful information, we would be grateful if you could please let us know. If the issue is still ongoing please contact us on tel: 999 emergency or 101 non emergency, if not ongoing you can report online using this link https://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/

If you need to speak with a local officer for advice, you can also contact your local Neighbourhood Police Team directly on snayorkouter@northyorkshire.police.uk

We also have property marking equipment, so if you would like your tools security marking free of charge then please contact us on the above email address. We do have security marking events across York but can also come directly to your address if you have a number of items to mark.

    Thankyou
