Counterfeit Banknote Checking Scheme

Businesses are being encouraged to sign up to the Bank of England banknote checking scheme in a bid to tackle counterfeit currency.

Officers from the force’s Economic Crime Unit and Designing Out Crime team will be out and about in the city centre on Wednesday (10 June) visiting businesses to offer information and advice.

Officers may not get a chance to visit all businesses in the area but if retailers would like more information, they should email Fraud.Vulnerabilities@leics.police.uk to request literature from the Bank of England.
