Fires on the Dunes

Dear Resident

While dealing with a incident on Marske beach this evening, Your ward PCSO's caught a young male lighting fires on the Dunes of Marske beach.

The youth was spoken to while still at the scene and then dispersed from the area.

The ward PCSO immediately visited the home address of the young male in order to speak with his parents about his conduct.

The male responsible has had a Anti Social Behaviour form (AS13) submitted and will also be subject to a referral in to Cleveland Fire Brigade who will work with the young male to help educate and make him aware of the dangers of impact of his actions.

Officers would like to take this opportunity to remind parents to always be aware of what their children are up to while out with their friends, and to challenge them should they return home smelling of smoke. 

The recent fires have cause significant damage to the grassed areas of the dunes and the habitat of the local wildlife.
