On the evening of SATURDAY 23RD MAY 2026, local Beat Officers conducted proactive patrols on Lodge Road, Staplehurst, following intelligence identifying the area as a hotspot for drug use and discarded nitrous oxide (NOS) canisters.
During patrol, officers observed a vehicle parked with two males inside in circumstances consistent with suspected drug misuse. Upon noticing police presence, the vehicle made off from the location, leaving behind a quantity of NOS canisters and associated balloons.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped. Both occupants were detained, and a search was conducted under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search, officers located three NOS canisters within the vehicle.
