🌟 Cultural Quarter – Weekly Round‑Up 🌟👶 Child Safety & Vehicle Seizure PCSO 6187 and PCSO 6571 stopped a vehicle after spotting a young child sat unsecured on an adult’s lap instead of being in the correct child seat. Further checks showed the driver was not insured to drive the vehicle. The driver was reported, and the vehicle was seized under Section 165. 🌿 Drugs Recovered at Town Hall Square PC Proctor and PCSO Brad continued patrols around Town Hall Square. During a search of the area, they located a large quantity of cannabis and a mobile phone discarded in bushes. Both items were seized for investigation. 🏫 End of School Term Operation Officers from the Beat Team supported the end‑of‑term policing operation in the city centre. The event ran smoothly with no issues, thanks to the visible presence and engagement from officers. 🏢 ASB Engagement at Fleet Court PCSO Becs attended Fleet Court following reports of increased ASB. She spoke with residents to gather concerns and offer reassurance. 🚶 New Walk Patrols PCSO Dan and PCSO Rich continued patrols around New Walk, following reports of increased ASB and suspected drug dealing. PCSO Rich also engaged with local shop and café owners to discuss their concerns. 👮 Arrests & Safeguarding – City Beat Team Support PC Stewart and PC Turner arrested a male wanted for recall to prison. They later encountered a male pushing a trolley full of heaters—on checking, he was found to be a missing person and was safely returned. Officers have also been assisting with the night‑time economy, providing visibility and reassurance. 🥐 Prolific Shoplifter Arrested at Greggs PS Cross has been working on a prolific shop theft investigation involving Greggs. While in store, the suspect entered, helped himself to items, and attempted to leave without paying. After a short foot chase, PS Cross detained and arrested him. 🧪 Nitrous Oxide & Public Order Arrests PC Carpenter and PC Proctor arrested a male for use and possession of nitrous oxide canisters and for refusing details. At custody, the male assaulted a detention officer. While dealing with this incident, another male began shouting racially aggravated abuse and was arrested for racially aggravated public order. 🏃 Recall to Prison – Second Arrest PC Carpenter also stopped a male wanted for recall to prison. After a brief foot chase, the male was detained and arrested. 🆘 Safeguarding – Concern for Welfare PC Stewart attended an incident involving a female who had left the LRI with concerns for her wellbeing. He located her and found she had been self‑harming. First aid was provided, ambulance attended, and she was safeguarded and returned to a place of safety. The Cultural Quarter Team continues to work hard across the area—tackling ASB, supporting vulnerable people, engaging with businesses, and keeping the community safe. | ||
