Unfortunately there has been an increase in the number of vehicle crimes across Selly Oak Constituency. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you to
Ensure you remove all items from your vehicle/s, DO NOT leave loose change, bank cards, bags, wallets, clothing, laptops, mobile phones, tools, documents with your address (private details) or Christmas Gifts in your vehicle.
Do not put all your keys on one key chain.
If your vehicle is keyless make sure your fob is in a faraday pouch when the vehicle is not in use. Please check your faraday pouch is still effective by putting your fob in the pouch and trying your door handles, before leaving it unattended.
If your vehicle is not keyless check that your fob has done its job, check all doors are locked and windows are closed.
Invest in a full disc steering wheel lock, this has been known to be a good deterrent.
FROSTY MORNING WARNING
Given how often we're now experiencing more frosty mornings and evenings. Please DO NOT leave your vehicles engine running and unattended to de-ice, de-mist, or warm your vehicle up. Even popping back inside for something you have forgotten, it only takes a few seconds for an opportunist thief to get in your vehicle and drive off.
