🎄 Ask for Angela – Keeping You Safe This Christmas

Greater Manchester Police are running a seasonal safety campaign across licensed venues in the district. You may notice “Ask for Angela” posters displayed in bars, pubs, and clubs.

These posters are a reminder to look out for signs someone may need help.

🚨 Warning Signs to Watch For:

Appears fearful, withdrawn, or anxious

Avoids eye contact or seems afraid to speak or leave

Overly intoxicated or visibly disoriented

Shows signs of distress or injury

Is alone or with someone they didn’t arrive with

Receiving unwanted attention or harassment

👥 How Staff and Patrons Can Help:

Check in discreetly:
“Are you okay?” / “Do you need help?”

Offer a safe space:
A quiet area to talk or wait

Use the code:
#AskForAngela – discreetly alert staff for help

Call for support:
Police, venue security, or safeguarding teams

Trust your instincts:
If something feels wrong, don’t ignore it

Support without judgment:
Listen, believe, and reassure
