||
|
Good evening, from your Coldhurst and Westwood Policing Team I hope you’re all enjoying the weekends activities such as Halloween and Bonfire night which is Officially on the 5th November but tends to get celebrated at the weekends, either just before or just afterwards. Oldham Town Centre are running activities for kids this evening , From 5.30pm on Saturday, November 1, Oldham council will take over the town centre with a host of colourful family-friendly events. It will be a free evening of fiery installations and mesmerising fire dancers. With stunning flame-filled displays, visitors will be able to watch artists paint the night sky with sparks, and enjoy thrilling performances that bring heat, light and drama to the heart of the Oldham. An immersive show with a spooky twist will also see youngsters interact with six ‘fire-powered’ stations to earn power-up tokens and feed the Monster-O-Meter. The show, put on by Emergency Exit Arts and Light fires’s Frank & McStein’s Monster Laboratory show, features a breath-taking giant puppet and live music. While the council event will not include a bonfire, several venues are putting on alternatives across the borough for the Guy Fawkes’ period, one example is the Church Inn Pub in Chadderton which will be hosting the ‘biggest amazing professional firework display they have ever done’ on Saturday, November 1st. The event starts at 5pm and runs until 10pm and will feature a large bonfire, a professional fireworks display, a DJ, hot food by Blackstones Catering Company, and of course a fully licensed bar – including mulled wine. Our patrols will be all over the area checking that no one is spoiling the festivities and that retailers are abiding by the rules and not selling fireworks to under aged children.
