Weekly Round-up! |

Good Afternoon Resident,
A slightly later update this week as WMNow was down for maintenance yesterday, but not to worry I might be on my day off but I'll still up keep you all 'in the know' with what's been going on in Wolverhampton City Centre and your local neighbourhood policing team.
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – A total of nine arrests were made in the city centre this week. Our Chief Inspector personally detained an offender during an incident in which members of staff were assaulted after the suspect attempted to steal cans of Red Bull from a city centre retailer. In addition, a male suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder that occurred on Lilleshall Crescent late last week. Other offences that led to arrests this week include being in control of a dangerous dog, theft, and the assault of emergency workers.
Community Engagement – Our team has been busy connecting with residents across the city through a range of community engagement events. Act on Energy Event – Mander Centre: Officers attended the Act on Energy event at the Mander Centre, speaking with over 200 people. This provided a great opportunity to offer advice, listen to local concerns, and raise awareness about community safety and support services.
Halloween Event – Wulfrun Centre: The team took part in the Halloween event at the Wulfrun Centre, engaging with around 220 people. We were pleased to welcome 7 new sign-ups to WMNow, helping more residents stay informed about local updates and crime prevention advice.
Cuppa with a Copper – Team 1: PCSO Holmes hosted a successful Cuppa with a Copper session, with a decent turnout from local residents. These informal chats continue to be a great way for the community to raise issues, share feedback, and build positive relationships with their neighbourhood officers. These events reflect our ongoing commitment to being visible, approachable, and supportive within our communities.
Guardian Patrols – This week was a busy one in relation to not only the usual Guardian Patrols but also taking into consideration that we have had Plain Clothes operations within the city. We have also had to supply our PCSOs to the Scene on Lilleshall Crescent on Saturday to help out with the control of the scene borders but to also provide some much needed reassurance for the residents and local community. Even with another loss this week for Wolverhampton Wanderers, our officers were out and about making sure everyone could enjoy the game without fear of violence and abuse.
Night-Time Economy – Once again this week, Team 2 were not involved in our NTE patrols. We did unfortunately have 2 officers from Team 3 who were assaulted in the process of making an arrest in the early hours of Sunday morning. This incident did cause them to work an extended shift, totalling 15 hours with the clocks going back that day as well. Both officers got some well deserved rest after that night shift.
Good News - I am happy to confirm that the recent messages regarding StreetWatch have been met with mostly positive feedback. We are now continuing forward with our efforts to get a scheme created and have already had 4 potential candidates come forward to be a StreetWatch Co-ordinator. If you have any interest in becoming a StreetWatch Co-ordinator please feel free to reply to the original post regarding applicants. Keep your eyes peeled for future updates regarding the scheme as we will eventually need more members to join our patrols.
What to Watch - As part of Christmas in Wolverhampton, the city centre will also host a Christmas Market on Victoria Street on the weekend of November 22&23 and from Friday November 28 to Sunday 30, featuring local artists and crafters showcasing and selling their work.
An enchanting and free 3D projection show which first arrived in Wolverhampton in 2023 will return this November, transforming St Peter’s Church with a ‘Lights in the Night’ show. The spectacle will project onto the church, celebrating the rich history, heritage, and diversity of the City of Wolverhampton. The show will play on a loop every five minutes and you will be able to spot key highlights such as running wolves and exploding locks as the city’s past is presented in a 3D light animation. Christmas Light Switch-on dates and times below.
Upcoming Events (All future events will be announced with a WMNow post) 08/11/2025 – CRIME PREVENTION STAND, ART GALLERY. 22/11/2025 - WOLVERHAMPTON XMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON. 26/11/2025 - CUPPA WITH A COPPER, CENTRAL LIBRARY
Please share this on Social Media and continue to look out for further updates from the team on our X (formerly twitter) page @WolvesPolice
