From Philip Virgo as Development Lead for Neighbourhood Watch in Lambeth Thank you for volunteering to create a Neighbourhood Watch Group for Edgeley and Clapham Manor
I regret that Lambeth does not yet have an Association to provide you with active assistance and training as per the guidance on the Neghbourhood Watch website: Start a Neighbourhood Watch scheme and become a Coordinator | Neighbourhood Watch Network
It is also impractical for me to organise an interview to check that you understand what you are taking on and have the support of your local police team and neighbours.
In the mean time, the process for approving a new co-ordinator and group via Neighbourhood Watch is for me (or another Multi-scheme Co-ordinator) to ask if you: I also ask how many neighbours on your street you expect to recruit and/or work with via a tenants/residents association and/or whatsapp group.
If you do not know your local team (Clapham Town e-mail ClaphamTown@met.police.uk) ) and SNP (Clapham Town) I can help with introductions. There are currently 6 participants on the Neighbourhood Alert databased (shared by Met Engage and NHW) for the area you propose.
After hearing from you I will contact the Police team and SNP chair to let then know of the new scheme, your contact details and anything else you wish said to them.
If you have joined via Met Engage and been proposed as a co-ordinator by your local neighbourhood police team please let me know, I can approve by return saving the need for the police team to ask for approval by a Police Inspector or above (the alternative approval routine). | ||
