As we move through the autumn season, your local police team in Hounslow, Feltham, Chiswick and surrounding areas would like to thank you for your continued support through MetEngage.

Following the joyful Diwali celebrations, we now look ahead to Bonfire Night on 5 November, which falls midweek this year. We’re aware that firework displays may take place on the weekends of 1st and 8th November, as advertised on social media and local platforms.

While these events bring excitement for many, we also recognise that fireworks can cause distress for some residents and pets. Together, we can ensure celebrations remain safe, respectful and inclusive.

🛡️ Gentle Safety Tips for Residents & Pet Owners

Plan ahead – If you or your pets are sensitive to loud noises, consider using calming music, closing windows, and drawing curtains during peak firework times.

Create a safe space – For pets, a quiet room with familiar bedding and toys can help reduce anxiety.

Check in on neighbours – Elderly or vulnerable residents may feel unsettled; a friendly check-in can go a long way.

Avoid setting off fireworks near homes or public spaces – Please attend licensed and advertised events only.

Conducting extra patrols across the borough to deter anti-social behaviour and offer reassurance

Engaging with schools, youth groups and businesses to promote safe celebrations
